যেখানে যত জ্ঞানবুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন লোক আছে তারা সকলে মিলে একসঙ্গে প্রতিশ্রুতি করল য়ে মোশির মাধ্যমে প্রভু, আমাদের ঈশ্বর তাদের জন্য য়ে বিধি পাঠিয়েছেন- সেই সমস্ত শিক্ষা ও নির্দেশ তারা অক্ষরে অক্ষরে পালন করবে এবং তারা ঈশ্বরের বিধিসমূহ পালন না করলে তারা সেই অভিশাপটি গ্রহণ করবে যার থেকে তাদের অমঙ্গল হবে|
Job 8 in Tamil and English
1 ત્યારે બિલ્દાદ શૂહીએ અયૂબને જવાબ આપ્યો,
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,
2 “તું ક્યાં સુધી આવી વાતો કર્યા કરીશ? તારા તોફાની શબ્દો ક્યાં સુધી વંટોળિયાની જેમ તારા મુખમાંથી નીકળ્યા કરશે?
How long wilt thou speak these things? and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
3 શું દેવ અન્યાય કરે છે? સર્વસમર્થ દેવ, જે વાત સાચી છે તેને શું બદલે છે?
Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
4 જો તારા સંતાનોએ તેમની વિરૂદ્ધ પાપ કર્યા હશે, તો તેણે તેમને તે માટે સજા કરી છે.
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
5 જો તું ખંતથી દેવની શોધ કરશે અને એમની કરુણા યાચશે,
If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6 અને તું જો પવિત્ર અને સારો હોઇશ તો એ તને ઝડપથી મદદ કરવા આવશે અને તને તારાં કાયદેસરના ઘરને, પાછા આપી દેશે.
If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
7 પછી તારી પાસે પહેલા હતું તેના કરતા ઘણું વધારે હશે.
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
8 તું પહેલાની પેઢીઓને પૂછી જો! જાણી લે આપણા પિતૃઓ શું શીખ્યા હતા?
For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:
9 આપણે તો આજકાલના છીએ, અને કાંઇજ જાણતા નથી. અહીં પૃથ્વી પરનું આપણું જીવન પડછાયા જેવું અલ્પ છે.
(For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow:)
10 તેઓ કદાચ તને શીખવી શકશે. કદાચ તેઓ તને તેઓ જે બાબત શીખ્યા હોય તે શીખવી શકે.
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
11 શું કાદવ વિના કમળ ઊગે? જળ વિના બરુ ઊગે?
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?
12 ના, જો પાણી સૂકાઇ જાય તો તેઓ પણ સૂકાઇ જશે.
Whilst it is yet in his greenness, and not cut down, it withereth before any other herb.
13 લોકો જે ઈશ્વરને ભૂલી જાય છે તે પેલા બરુઓ જેવા છે. જે વ્યકિત ઈશ્વરને ભૂલી જાય છે તેને આશા રહેશે નહિ.
So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite’s hope shall perish:
14 તે માણસ પાસે અઢેલવા માટે કાઇ નથી. તેની સુરક્ષા કરોળિયાના જાળ જેવી છે.
Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
15 જો એક વ્યકિત કરોળિયાના જાળાને અઢેલી ને ટેકો લે તો તે તૂટી જાય તે કરોળીયાના જાળાનો આશ્રય લે છે પણ તે તેને ટેકો આપશે નહિ.
He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.
16 તે માણસ વનસ્પતિના એક છોડ જેવો છે જેની પાસે પુષ્કળ પાણી અને સૂર્ય પ્રકાશ છે. તેની ડાળીઓ આખા બગીચામાં ફેલાય છે.
He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.
17 પથ્થર પર ઉગવાની જગ્યા શોધતા તે જથ્થાબંદ પથ્થરોને ઢાંકી દે છે.
His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
18 પણ જો એને એકવાર ઊખેડવામાં આવે તો પછી એ ઊગ્યાં હતાં કે નહિ એની ખબર પણ પડે નહિ.
If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, I have not seen thee.
19 આ તો તેના માર્ગનું સુખ છે, અને જમીનમાંથી બીજા છોડ ઊગી નીકળે છે!
Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.
20 પરંતુ દેવ નિદોર્ષ લોકોને કદી અસમર્થ કરશે નહિ, અને અધમીર્ને કદી મદદ કરશે નહિ.
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers:
21 તેઓ તારા ચહેરાને હાસ્યથી અને તારા હોઠોને આનંદના પોકારોથી ભરી દેશે.
Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.
22 તારો તિરસ્કાર કરનારા દુશ્મનો શરમથી છુપાઇ જશે અને દુષ્ટોના ઘરબાર નાશ પામશે.”
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
