2 Corinthians 2:16
যাঁরা হারিয়ে যাচ্ছে তাদের কাছে আমরা মৃত্যুমূলক মৃত্যুজনক গন্ধ; কিন্তু যাঁরা পরিত্রাণ পাচ্ছে তাদের কাছে আমরা জীবনমূলক জীবনদায়ক গন্ধ, সুতরাং কে এইরকম কাজ করার উপযুক্ত?

কিন্তু এখন আমি যা হয়েছি, তা ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহের গুনেই হয়েছে৷ আমার প্রতি তাঁর য়ে অনুগ্রহ তা নিষ্ফল হয় নি, বরং আমি তাদের সকলের থেকে অধিক পরিশ্রম করেছি৷ তবে আমি য়ে এই কাজ করেছিলাম তা নয়; কিন্তু আমার মধ্যে ঈশ্বরের য়ে অনুগ্রহ ছিল তাতেই তা সন্ভব হয়েছে৷

আমি বোকার মতো কথা বলছি, তোমরাই আমাকে জোর করে বোকা বানালে৷ কারণ আমার প্রশংসা করা তোমাদের উচিত ছিল, যদিও আমি কিছু নই, তবু সেই ‘মহান প্রেরিতদের’ থেকে কোন অংশে ছোট নই৷
