2 Kings 5:8
ঈশ্বরের লোক ইলীশায় খবর পেলেন শোকার্ত ইস্রায়েলের রাজা তাঁর পোশাক ছিঁড়ে ফেলেছেন| তখন তিনি রাজাকে খবর পাঠালেন: “তুমি কেন পোশাক ছিঁড়ে কষ্ট পাচ্ছ? নামানকে আমার কাছে আসতে দাও, তাহলে ও বুঝবে ইস্রায়েলে সত্যি সত্যিই একজন ভাব্বাদী বাস করে!”

নামান আর তাঁর দলের সবাই তখন ইলীশায়ের কাছে ফিরে এলেন| ইলীশায়ের সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে নামান বললেন, “এতদিনে আমি বুঝলাম ইস্রায়েল ছাড়া পৃথিবীতে আর কোথাও কোন ঈশ্বর নেই! এখন আপনি অনুগ্রহ করে আমার থেকে একটা উপহার গ্রহণ করুন!”

চিঠিটা পড়ে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা মনোকষ্টে তাঁর পোশাক ছিঁড়ে ফেলে বললেন, “আমি তো আর ঈশ্বর নই! জীবন-মৃত্যুর ওপর আমার যখন কোন হাত নেই, তখন কেন অরামের রাজা কুষ্ঠরোগাএান্ত এক জনকে আমার কাছে সারিযে তোলার জন্য পাঠালেন? এটা খুবই স্পষ্ট য়ে তিনি একটি যুদ্ধ বাধাবার পরিকল্পনা করছেন!”

মেয়েটি নামানের স্ত্রীকে বলল, “মনিব শমরিয়ায বাসকারী ভাব্বাদীর সঙ্গে দেখা করলে তিনি নিশ্চয়ই তাঁর কুষ্ঠরোগ সারিযে দিতেন|”
