ரோமர் 4:10
அது எப்பொழுது அவனுக்கு அப்படி எண்ணப்பட்டது? அவன் விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தபோதோ, விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவனாயிருந்தபோதோ? விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தபோதல்ல, விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவனாயிருந்தபோதே.

மேலும்: யூதாவின் மூன்று பாவங்களுக்காகவும், நான்கு பாவங்களுக்காகவும், நான் அவர்களுடைய தண்டனையைத் திருப்பமாட்டேன்; அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வேதத்தை வெறுத்து, அவருடைய கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளாமல், தங்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் பின்பற்றின பொய்களினால் மோசம்போனார்களே.

கர்த்தர் இவற்றைக் கூறுகிறார்: “நான் நிச்சயமாக யூதாவை அவர்களது பல குற்றங்களுக்காகத் தண்டிப்பேன். ஏனென்றால் அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய கட்டளைகளுக்கு அடிபணிய மறுத்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அவரது கட்டளைகளைக் கைக்கொள்ளவில்லை. அவர்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் பொய்களை நம்பினார்கள். அதே பொய்கள் யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் தேவனைப் பின்பற்றுவதை நிறுத்தக் காரணமாயிருந்தது.
