ஆதலால், நீ போ; நான் உன் வாயோடே இருந்து, நீ பேசவேண்டியதை உனக்குப் போதிப்பேன் என்றார்.

உங்களுடைய மிகுதியான பலிகள் எனக்கு எதற்கு என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறார்; ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களின் தகனபலிகளும், கொழுத்த மிருகங்களின் கொழுப்பும் எனக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கிறது; காளைகள், ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகள், கடாக்களுடைய இரத்தத்தின்மேல் எனக்குப் பிரியமில்லை.

தேவன் கூறுகிறார், “நீங்கள் ஏன் தொடர்ந்து எனக்கு இத்தனை பலி கொடுக்கிறீர்கள்? நான் போதுமான அளவிற்கு உங்களிடமிருந்து ஆடு, காளை, ஆட்டுக் குட்டிகள், கடாக்கள் ஆகியவற்றின் கொழுப்பின் பலிகளையும் பெற்றுவிட்டேன்.

To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
