வேட்டைக்காரன் அந்த மானின் நெஞ்சில் அம்பை வீசத்தயாராக இருந்தான். அவன் வலைக்குள் பறந்துபோகும் பறவையைப்போன்று இருந்தான். அவன் தனக்கு வரப்போகும் ஆபத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

கண்ணியில் விழப்போகும் பறவையைப் போலவும் சென்றான். ஓர் அம்பு அவன் நெஞ்சில் ஊடுருவிப் பாயும் வரையில், தன் உயிர் அழிக்கப்படும் என்பதை அறியாமலே சென்றான்.⒫

தன் காலத்தை மனுஷன் அறியான்; மச்சங்கள் கொடிய வலையில் அகப்படுவதுபோலவும், குருவிகள் கண்ணியில் பிடிபடுவதுபோலவும், மனுபுத்திரர் பொல்லாதகாலத்திலே சடிதியில் தங்களுக்கு நேரிடும் ஆபத்தில் அகப்படுவார்கள்.
