இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: பரிசேயர் சதுசேயர் என்பவர்களின் புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள் என்றார்.

அத்தருணத்திலே அநேகமாயிரம் ஜனங்கள் ஒருவரை ஒருவர் மிதிக்கத்தக்கதாகக் கூடிவந்திருக்கையில், அவர் முதலாவது தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் மாயமாகிய பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்.

அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் பரிசேயருடைய புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்தும் ஏரோதின் புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்தும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள் என்று கற்பித்தார்.

நீங்கள் மேன்மை பாராட்டுகிறது நல்லதல்ல; கொஞ்சம் புளித்தமா பிசைந்தமா முழுவதையும் புளிப்பாக்குமென்று அறியீர்களா?

புளிப்புள்ள கொஞ்சமாவானது பிசைந்த மாவனைத்தையும் உப்பப்பண்ணும்.

புளிப்பில்லா அப்பத்தை ஏழு நாளளவும் புசிக்கக்கடவீர்கள்; முதலாம் நாளில்தானே புளித்த மாவை உங்கள் வீடுகளிலிருந்து நீக்கவேண்டும்; முதலாம் நாள் தொடங்கி ஏழாம் நாள் வரைக்கும் புளித்தஅப்பம் புசிக்கிறவன் எவனோ அந்த ஆத்துமா இஸ்ரவேலரிலிருந்து அறுப்புண்டு போவான்.

அப்பொழுது, அவர் அப்பத்தின் புளித்தமாவைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருக்கவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லாமல், பரிசேயர் சதுசேயர் என்பவர்களின் உபதேசத்தைக்குறித்தே அப்படிச்சொன்னார் என்று அறிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.

பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்.
