நான் உங்கள் பிதாக்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினபோது சமுத்திரக்கரைக்கு வந்தீர்கள்; எகிப்தியர் இரதங்களோடும் குதிரைவீரரோடும் உங்கள் பிதாக்களைச் சிவந்த சமுத்திரமட்டும் பின்தொடர்ந்தார்கள்.

இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் ராமசேசை விட்டுக் கால்நடையாய்ப் பிரயாணம் பண்ணி, சுக்கோத்துக்குப் போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் பிள்ளைகள்தவிர ஆறுலட்சம் புருஷராயிருந்தார்கள்.

அன்றைத்தினமே கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை அணியணியாய் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

நீர் அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சமுத்திரத்தைப் பிரித்ததினால், கடலின் நடுவாகக் கால்நனையாமல் நடந்தார்கள்; வலுவான தண்ணீர்களிலே கல்லைப்போடுகிறதுபோல, அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்தவர்களை ஆழங்களிலே போட்டுவிட்டீர்.

யாக்கோபு யோசேப்பு என்பவர்களின் புத்திரராகிய உம்முடைய ஜனங்களை, உமது புயத்தினாலே மீட்டுக்கொண்டீர். (சேலா.)

கடலைப் பிளந்து, அவர்களைக் கடக்கப்பண்ணி, ஜலத்தைக் குவியலாக நிற்கும்படி செய்தார்.

சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்தை இரண்டாகப் பிரித்தவரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது.

அவர்கள் நடுவிலே தம்முடைய பரிசுத்த ஆவியை இருக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டு, மோசேயின் வலதுகையைக்கொண்டு அவர்களைத் தமது மகியின் புயத்தினாலே நடத்தி, தமக்கு நித்தியகீர்த்தியை உண்டாக்க அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தண்ணீரைப் பிளந்து,

நான் உன்னை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணி, அடிமைத்தன வீட்டிலிருந்து உன்னைமீட்டுக்கொண்டு மோசே ஆரோன் மிரியாம் என்பவர்களை உனக்கு முன்பாக அனுப்பினேன்.

இவனே அவர்களை அங்கேயிருந்து அழைத்துவந்து, எகிப்து தேசத்திலேயும் சிவந்த சமுத்திரத்திலேயும், நாற்பது வருஷகாலமாய் வனாந்தரத்திலேயும், அற்புதங்களையும் அடையாளங்களையும் செய்தான்.

விசுவாசத்தினாலே அவர்கள் சிவந்தசமுத்திரத்தை உலர்ந்த தரையைக் கடந்துபோவதுபோலக், கடந்துபோனார்கள்; எகிப்தியர் அப்படிச் செய்யத்துணிந்து அமிழ்ந்துபோனார்கள்.
