அவன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட மண்ணைப் பண்படுத்த தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்திலிருந்து அனுப்பிவிட்டார்.

ஆகையால் அவர்களை தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் ஏதேன் தோட்டத்தை விட்டு வெளியேற்றினார். ஆதாம் ஏதேன் தோட்டத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறி தான் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட மண்ணிலேயே உழைக்கும்படி வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டான்.

எனவே, ஆண்டவராகிய கடவுள் அவன் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட அதே மண்ணைப் பண்படுத்த அவனை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்திலிருந்து வெளியே அனுப்பி விட்டார்.

நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதச் செடிகளும் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் உண்டாகவில்லை, நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதப் பூண்டுகளும் இன்னும் முளைக்கவில்லை; ஏனெனில் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் மழையைப் பெய்யப்பண்ணவில்லை; நிலத்தைப் பண்படுத்த மனுஷனும் இருந்ததில்லை.
