இன்று நான் உனக்கு விதிக்கிற உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய எல்லாக் கற்பனைகளின்படியும் கட்டளைகளின்படியும் நடக்கக் கவனமாயிருக்கிறதற்கு, அவர் சத்தத்திற்குச் செவிகொடாதேபோவாயாகில், இப்பொழுது சொல்லப்படும் சாபங்களெல்லாம் உன்மேல் வந்து உனக்குப் பலிக்கும்.

நீங்கள் கேளாமலும் என் நாமத்துக்கு மகிமையைச் செலுத்தும்படி இதைச் சிந்தியாமலுமிருந்தால், நான் உங்களுக்குள்ளே சாபத்தை அனுப்பி, உங்கள் ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் சாபமாக்குவேன்; ஆம், நீங்கள் அதைச் சிந்தியாமற்போனதினால் அவைகளைச் சபித்தேன் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் சத்தத்துக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கும்போது, இப்பொழுது சொல்லப்படும் ஆசீர்வாதங்களெல்லாம் உன்மேல் வந்து உனக்குப்பலிக்கும்.

இப்பொழுதும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே சொன்ன நல்ல காரியம் எல்லாம் உங்களிடத்திலே எப்படி நிறைவேறிற்றோ, அப்படியே, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையை நீங்கள் மீறி, அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவித்து, அவைகளைப் பணிந்து கொள்ளுங்காலத்தில்,

கர்த்தர் தாம் நினைத்ததைச் செய்தார்; பூர்வநாட்கள் முதற்கொண்டு தாம் கட்டளையிட்ட தமது வார்த்தையை நிறைவேற்றினார்; அவர் தப்பவிடாமல் நிர்மூலமாக்கி, உன்மேல் பகைஞன் சந்தோஷிக்கும்படி செய்தார்; உன் சத்துருக்களின் கொம்பை உயர்த்தினார்.

சண்டைக்காரராயிருந்து, சத்தியத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமல், அநியாயத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கோ உக்கிரகோபாக்கினை வரும்.

கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பான காரியமாகிய தொழிலாளிகளுடைய கைவேலையால் செய்யப்பட்டதும் வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டதுமான யாதொரு விக்கிரகத்தை உண்டுபண்ணி ஒளிப்பிடத்திலே வைக்கிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்பார்களாக; அதற்கு ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் பிரதியுத்தரமாக ஆமென் என்று சொல்லக்கடவர்கள்.

துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு ஐயோ! அவனுக்குக் கேடு உண்டாகும்; அவன் கைகளின் பலன் அவனுக்குக் கிடைக்கும்.
