பெர்சியா ராஜ்யத்தின் அதிபதி இருபத்தாரு நாள்மட்டும் என்னோடே எதிர்த்து நின்றான்; ஆனாலும் பிரதான அதிபதிகளில் ஒருவனாகிய மிகாவேல் எனக்கு உதவியாக வந்தான்; ஆதலால் நான் அங்கே பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாக்களிடத்தில் தரித்திருந்தேன்.

உன் ஜனத்தின் புத்திரருக்காக நிற்கிற பெரிய அதிபதியாகிய மிகாவேல் அக்காலத்திலே எழும்புவான். யாதொரு ஜாதியாரும் தோன்றினதுமுதல் அக்காலமட்டும் உண்டாயிராத ஆபத்துக்காலம் வரும்; அக்காலத்திலே புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறவர்களாகக் காணப்படுகிற உன் ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் விடுவிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.

பிரதான தூதனாகிய மிகாவேல், மோசேயின் சரீரத்தைக் குறித்துப் பிசாசுடனே தர்க்கித்துப்பேசினபோது, அவனைத் தூஷணமாய்க் குற்றப்படுத்தத் துணியாமல்: கர்த்தர் உன்னைக் கடிந்துகொள்வாராக என்று சொன்னான்.

வானத்திலே யுத்தமுண்டாயிற்று; மிகாவேலும் அவனைச் சேர்ந்த தூதர்களும் வலுசர்ப்பத்தோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; வலுசர்ப்பமும் அதைச்சேர்ந்த தூதரும் யுத்தம்பண்ணியும் ஜெயங்கொள்ளவில்லை.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் உன்னிடத்திற்கு வந்த காரணம் இன்னதென்று உனக்குத் தெரியுமா? இப்போது நான் பெர்சியாவின் பிரபுவோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணத் திரும்பிப்போகிறேன்; நான் போனபின்பு, கிரேக்கு தேசத்தின் அதிபதி வருவான்.

ஏனெனில், மாம்சத்தோடும் இரத்தத்தோடுமல்ல, துரைத்தனங்களோடும், அதிகாரங்களோடும், இப்பிரபஞ்சத்தின் அந்தகார லோகாதிபதிகளோடும், வானமண்டலங்களிலுள்ள பொல்லாத ஆவிகளின் சேனைகளோடும் நமக்குப் போராட்டம் உண்டு.

அவர் பரலோகத்திற்குப் போய், தேவனுடைய வலதுபாரிசத்தில் இருக்கிறார்; தேவதூதர்களும் அதிகாரங்களும் வல்லமைகளும் அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

அதினால் அந்த தேசத்து ஜனங்கள் யூதா ஜனத்தின் கைகளைத் தளரப்பண்ணி, கட்டாதபடிக்கு அவர்களைச் சங்கடப்படுத்தி,

அப்பொழுது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலை தடைபட்டு, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய தரியு ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணின இரண்டாம் வருஷமட்டும் நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தது.

அவர் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய யோசுவாவை எனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்; அவன் கர்த்தருடைய தூதனுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றான்; சாத்தான் அவனுக்கு விரோதஞ்செய்ய அவன் வலதுபக்கத்திலே நின்றான்.

மேலும் சகல துரைத்தனங்களுக்கும் அதிகாரத்துக்கும் தலைவராயிருக்கிற அவருக்குள் நீங்கள் பரிபூரணமுள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

ஆகையால், நாங்கள் உங்களிடத்தில்வர இரண்டொருதரம் மனதாயிருந்தோம், பவுலாகிய நானே வர மனதாயிருந்தேன்; சாத்தானோ எங்களைத் தடைபண்ணினான்.
