இதை யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அகசியா கண்டு, தோட்டத்தின் வீட்டுவழியாய் ஓடிப்போனான்; யெகூ அவனைப் பின் தொடர்ந்து: அவனையும் இரதத்திலே வெட்டிப்போடுங்கள் என்றான்; அவர்கள் இப்லேயாம் கிட்ட இருக்கிற கூர்மலையின் மேல் ஏறுகிற வழியிலே அப்படிச் செய்தார்கள்; அவன் மெகிதோவுக்கு ஓடிப்போய் அங்கே செத்துப் போனான்.

யூதாவின் அரசனான அகசியா இதனைப் பார்த்து ஓடிப்போனான். அவன் தோட்ட வீட்டிற்குப்போக, யெகூ அவனைத் துரத்திப்போனான். யெகூ, “அகசியாவை அவன் இரதத்தில் வெட்டிப் போடுங்கள்” என்றான். எனவே யெகூவின் ஆட்கள் அகசியாவை இப்லேயாம், அருகிலுள்ள கூர் மலைக்கான சாலையில் எய்தனர். அவன் மெகிதோவுக்கு ஓடிப்போய் அங்கேயே மரித்துப்போனான்.

மனாசே கோத்திரத்தார் பெத்செயான் பட்டணத்தாரையும் அதற்கு அடுத்த ஊர்களின் மனுஷரையும், தானாக் பட்டணத்தாரையும், அதற்கு அடுத்த ஊர்களின் மனுஷரையும், தோரின் குடிகளையும் அதற்கு அடுத்த ஊர்களின் மனுஷரையும், இப்லெயாம் பட்டணத்தாரையும் அதற்கு அடுத்த ஊர்களின் மனுஷரையும், மெகிதோவின் குடிகளையும் அதற்கு அடுத்த ஊர்களின் மனுஷரையும் துரத்திவிடவில்லை; கானானியர் அந்த தேசத்திலே தானே குடியிருக்கவேண்டும் என்று இருந்தார்கள்.

இசக்காரிலும் ஆசேரிலுமிருக்கிற மூன்று நாடுகளாகிய பெத்செயானும் அதின் ஊர்களும், இப்லெயாமும் அதின் ஊர்களும், தோரின் குடிகளும் அதின் ஊர்களும் எந்தோரின் குடிகளும் அதின் ஊர்களும், தானாகின் குடிகளும் அதின் ஊர்களும், மெகிதோவின் குடிகளும் அதின் ஊர்களும் மனாசேயினுடையவைகள்.

அவன் சபையாரை நோக்கி இந்தத் துஷ்டமனிதரின் சகல பாவங்களிலும் நீங்கள் வாரிக்கொள்ளப்படாதபடிக்கு, அவர்கள் கூடாரங்களை விட்டு விலகி, அவர்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் தொடாதிருங்கள் என்றான்.

ராஜாக்கள் வந்து யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது கானானியரின் ராஜாக்கள் மெகிதோவின் தண்ணீர் அருகான தானாக்கிலே யுத்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவர்களுக்குத் திரவியக்கொள்ளை கிடைக்கவில்லை.

அகிலுூதின் குமாரனாகிய பானா, இவன் விசாரிப்பில், தானாகும், மெகிதோவும், சர்த்தனாவுக்குப் பக்கமாகவும் யெஸ்ரயேலுக்குக் கீழாகவும் பெத்செயான் தொடங்கி ஆபேல் மெகொல்லாமட்டும் யக்மெயாமுக்கு அப்புறத்துமட்டும் இருக்கிற பெத்செயான் அனைத்தும் இருந்தது.

ஆகாப் நாபோத்தோடே பேசி: உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டம் என் வீட்டிற்கு அடுத்திருக்கிறபடியால், அதைக் கீரைக்கொல்லையாக்கும்படி எனக்குக் கொடு, அதைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்ல திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை அதற்குப் பதிலாக உனக்குத் தருவேன்; அல்லது உனக்கு வேண்டுமானால், அதின் விலைக்கிரயமான பணத்தைத் தருவேன் என்றான்.

ராஜாவாகிய யோராம் தான் சீரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசகேலோடு யுத்தம் பண்ணுகையில், சீரியர் ராமாவிலே தன்னை வெட்டின காயங்களை ஆற்றிக் கொள்ள யெஸ்ரயேலுக்குப் போயிருந்தான்; ஆகாபின் குமாரனாகிய யோராம் வியாதியாயிருந்தபடியினால், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோராமின் குமாரன் அகசியா யெஸ்ரயேலில் இருக்கிற அவனைப் பார்க்கிறதற்குப் போனான்.

அவன் நாட்களில் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய பார்வோன்நேகோ அசீரியா ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய் ஐபிராத்து நதிக்குப் போகிறபோது ராஜாவாகிய யோசியா அவனுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டான்; பார்வோன்நேகோ அவனை மெகிதோவிலே கண்டபோது, அவனைக் கொன்று போட்டான்.

அகசியா யோராமிடத்துக்கு வந்தது அவனுக்கு தேவனால் உண்டான கேடாக லபித்தது; எப்படியென்றால், அவன் வந்தபோது யோராமுடனே கூட, கர்த்தர் ஆகாபின் குடும்பத்தாரைச் சங்கரிக்க அபிஷேகம்பண்ணுவித்த நிம்சியின் குமாரனாகிய யெகூவுக்கு நேராக வெளியே போனான்.

ஞானிகளோடே சஞ்சரிக்கிறவன் ஞானமடைவான்; மூடருக்குத் தோழனோ நாசமடைவான்.

ஆனபடியால், நீங்கள் அவர்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப் பிரிந்துபோய், அசுத்தமானதைத் தொடாதிருங்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
