அன்னாள் தன் இருதயத்திலே பேசினாள்; அவளுடைய உதடுகள் மாத்திரம் அசைந்தது, அவள் சத்தமோ கேட்கப்படவில்லை; ஆகையால் அவள் வெறித்திருக்கிறாள் என்று ஏலி நினைத்து,

அப்சலோம் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே அப்சலோமின் வேலைக்காரர்கள் அம்னோனுக்குச் செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ராஜாவின் மகன்கள் எல்லோரும் எழுந்து, அவரவர்கள் தங்களுடைய கோவேறு கழுதையின்மேல் ஏறி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.

ஆகையால் அப்சலோமின் இளம் வீரர்கள் அவன் கூறியபடியே செய்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அம்னோனைக் கொன்றார்கள். ஆனால் தாவீதின் பிற மகன்கள் தப்பிப் பிழைத்தார்கள். ஒவ்வொரு மகனும் தன் கோவேறு கழுதையின் மேலேறித் தப்பிச் சென்றான்.
