அநேகராகிய நாமும் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் ஒரே சரீரமாயிருக்க, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் அவயவங்களாயிருக்கிறோம்.

எல்லாவற்றையும் எல்லாவற்றாலும் நிரப்புகிறவருடைய நிறைவாகிய சரீரமான சபைக்கு அவரை எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலான தலையாகத் தந்தருளினார்.

பரிசுத்தவான்கள் சீர்பொருந்தும்பொருட்டு, சுவிசேஷ ஊழியத்தின் வேலைக்காகவும், கிறிஸ்துவின் சரீரமாகிய சபையானது பக்திவிருத்தி அடைவதற்காகவும்,

இப்பொழுது நான் உங்கள் நிமித்தம் அநுபவிக்கிற பாடுகளில் சந்தோஷமடைந்து, கிறிஸ்துவினுடைய உபத்திரவங்களில் குறைவானதை அவருடைய சரீரமாகிய சபைக்காக, என் மாம்சத்தில் நிறைவேற்றுகிறேன்.

நாம் அவருடைய சரீரத்தின் அவயவங்களாயும், அவருடைய மாம்சத்திற்கும் அவருடைய எலும்புக்கும் உரியவர்களாயும் இருக்கிறோம்.

எப்படியெனில், சரீரம் ஒன்று, அதற்கு அவயவங்கள் அநேகம்; ஒரே சரீரத்தின் அவயவங்களெல்லாம் அநேகமாயிருந்தும், சரீரம் ஒன்றாகவேயிருக்கிறது; அந்தப்பிரகாரமாகக் கிறிஸ்துவும் இருக்கிறார்.

கிறிஸ்து சபைக்குத் தலையாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, புருஷனும் மனைவிக்குத் தலையாயிருக்கிறான்; அவரே சரீரத்திற்கும் இரட்சகராயிருக்கிறார்.

அவரே சபையாகிய சரீரத்துக்குத் தலையானவர்; எல்லாவற்றிலும் முதல்வராயிருக்கும்படி, அவரே ஆதியும் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து எழுந்த முதற்பேறுமானவர்.

சரீரமும் ஒரே அவயவமாயிராமல் அநேக அவயவங்களை உடையதாயிருக்கிறது.
