जिस समय अमस्याह यहोवा के पीछे चलना छोड़ कर फिर गया था उस समय से यरूशलेम में उसके विरुद्ध द्रोह की गोष्ठी होने लगी, और वह लाकीश को भाग गया। सो दूतों ने लाकीश तक उसका पीछा कर के, उसको वहीं मार डाला।
