फिर दाऊद ने शपथ खाकर कहा, तेरा पिता निश्चय जानता है कि तेरे अनुग्रह की दृष्टि मुझ पर है; और वह सोचता होगा, कि योनातन इस बात को न जानने पाए, ऐसा न हो कि वह खेदित हो जाए। परन्तु यहोवा के जीवन की शपथ और तेरे जीवन की शपथ, नि:सन्देह, मेरे और मृत्यु के बीच डग ही भर का अन्तर है।
