“যখন কেউ হোমবলি হিসেবে একটা মেষ বা একটা ছাগল উপহার দেয়, তখন সেই প্রাণীটিকে অবশ্যই পুরুষ প্রাণী হতে হবে, যার মধ্যে কোন দোষ বা খুঁত নেই|

Leviticus 4:23
যদি শাসক তার পাপ সম্বন্ধে বুঝতে পারে, তা হলে সে অবশ্যই কোন দোষ নেই এমন একটি পুরুষ ছাগল আনবে| সেটাই হবে তার নৈবেদ্য|
Leviticus 22:19
ঐ উপহারগুলি লোকরা আনে কারন তারা সত্যিই ঈশ্বরকে উপহার দিতে চায়| কিন্তু কোন নৈবেদ্য ইস্রায়েলেতে কোন দোষ আছে তা তোমরা অবশ্যই গ্রহণ করবে না| আমি সেই উপহারে খুশী হবো না|
Isaiah 53:6
আমরা সবাই হারিযে যাওয়া মেষের মত ঘুরে বেড়িযেছিলাম| আমরা সবাই আমাদের নিজেদের পথে গিয়েছিলাম যখন প্রভু আমাদের সব শাস্তি তাকে দিয়ে ভোগ করাচ্ছিলেন|
Malachi 1:14
“সেই প্রতারক অভিশপ্ত, যার পালে পুরুষ পশু রযেছে আর তা দিতে মানত করা সত্ত্বেও সে প্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে এমন পশু উত্সর্গ করে যা দোষ যুক্ত| আমিই এই কথা বলছি কারণ আমি শক্তিমান রাজা এবং সমস্ত জাতির লোক আমাকে ভয় করে|” সর্বশক্তিমান প্রভু এই কথা বলেন|
John 1:29
পরের দিন য়োহন যীশুকে তাঁর দিকে আসতে দেখে বললেন, ‘ঐ দেখ, ঈশ্বরের মেষশাবক, যিনি জগতের পাপরাশি বহন করে নিয়ে যান!
